I also missed going out to play, going to church and also going to the market without the scare of the virus. The results of the annual Year in Search show how Filipinos are spending their time online and embracing the digital age. Landing on the number one spot is the free online chat site Omegle. It became popular as a virtual hangout where people make friends, pull off fun pranks, and even discuss topics of interest or fandoms. K-pop fans were also treated to a surprise in Omegle this year as the girls of BLACKPINK revealed themselves in the chat app, making headlines in blogs and social networking sites. Some YouTube creators also use Omegle to develop entertaining reaction content on their channels. Gaming site MemoryHackers made a return to the list as the second top trending item. It is followed by Codashop, every gamer’s go-to website for game credits and vouchers. Completing the list are searches on the most talked about events such as the Halalan 2019, Idol Philippines grand finals, and the boxing match between Pacquiao and Broner. The trending topics for news reflect how Filipinos aimed to be more informed citizens as based on top search queries. The May senatorial elections landed the number one spot for the news category. Meanwhile, results for national exams such as the Licensure Examination, Civil Service Commission, and Bar Exam claimed three spots in the list. Annual sports competitions and basketball teams took up most of the spots in the events category. NBA, Wimbledon, and FIBA all placed high, while the match between Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors entered the list. Esports event, The International 2019 (TI9), also joined the events category. Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame–the closing movie of MCU’s phase three–is this year’s top trending film. It is the most anticipated superhero movie of the year which broke global box office records on its opening weekend. Star Cinema’s Hello, Love, Goodbye is the only local film in the list, claiming the second spot. Local series dominated the TV shows category, with singing competition Idol Philippines placing number one. OPM is the leading music genre searched by Filipinos this year, owning 8 of the 10 spots in the songs and lyrics category. Ads by AdAsia Superwomen made it to this year’s list of top trending female personalities, with the next generation Darna actress Jane De Leon leading the pack, followed by queens Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray. Rising Pinoy pop group SB19, who trained under a Korean entertainment company, topped the list of trending male personalities. This year is also big for how-to articles and videos as many Pinoys relied on Search to discover and learn new things. Topping the list is how to access dark mode on mobile, which can save battery life and is said to reduce eye strain. Other results included lessons on Korean language, as well as tutorials on making beef steak and milk tea. Searches on dog breeds included bulldog, golden retriever, and Pembroke Welsh Corgi. “The annual Year in a Search serves as a lens to the most relevant topics in pop culture, events, sports, politics, and news that shaped 2019 for Filipinos. It also gives a glimpse into our way of life and how we search online,” said Mervin Wenke, Head of Communications and Public Affairs, Google Philippines. Actually we are suing the fake architect contrator, it cost us 600 000PHP for civil and criminal, money we will never see back as they spent it all, out of 6 millions budget, they stole 3.4 millions by cheating on absolutely everything, footing size was divided by 3, beams by 2, no 16mm rebars they changed by 8 and 10mm, etc etc… I could go on with the construction, the corrupted engineer office the contractor bribed because they re illegal, they have no license and can not engage in construction nor contracting. i could tell you about the supplier, accomplice who made fake receipts and bills for them, etc If you plan to invest millions, the sharks will show up. Edit. The night before we finalize the sale with our notary, they told us there was encumbrance on the title, mortgage, while we already sign the promise of sale , i can t remember the name. I could talk about our rental experience which is not even better, we rent between 20 000 and 40 000 for 8 years, rich owners of course, 4 out of six were not giving us BIR receipts, raise PECO bills by 20 to 50%, they consider they give us a service and take such margin. I could tell you how half of my wife s family forbid us to sue their son/brother in law (married to the eldest) because he s helping them from time to time, the other half want are siding with us because he scammed their sister and I. His parents are totally ashamed, his siblings told us to sue him. I don t say Illongos are dishonest. but if you plan to spend big, there are some sphere were there are plenty of scammers, those business or business men that manipulates big money. And if they do, it s because they can, the law are pretty elusive and there are corrupt government officer to help them… Let s talk about murders, there is not a day without one in Iloilo, almost everyday someone is killed by those motorcycle tandems, etc etc.. All those said, i would leave Philippines for other opportunities or if i totally get bankrupt, so there are positive sides in Philippines that would still make me stay. But i always planned to live somewhere else than Iloilo, which is too boring for me, PP is more to my taste. NB. Always get a good lawyer for your business or estate transaction, it s hard to get good ones, our third one is not only jovial but also knowledgeable and competent, and this trait of character when you get the stress of being scammed and getting to court, is really big help (jovial).
